2000ad - wasn't it great. Maybe it still is.
As I've mentioned before I used to read 2000ad. I really loved that comic. Bought it every week with my pocket money, running to the shops barefoot blah blah blah. Seriously though, there were some great stories and artwork in 2000ad - maybe there still is, it's still going as far as I know.
Anyway it was a funny coincidence that I stumbled across this blog today because only hours before I was looking over my 2000ad comic collection from about 10(ish) years ago and wondering if I should sell them. More on that soon, I must look through them, count them, get the prog numbers, find out how much I could get for them and decide if I can bear parting with them.
I also came across a sketch by Brendan McCarthy done at a signing, a great one by Glen Fabry, a couple of nice ones by Colin McNeill, a really lovely one by Rian Hughes and some others too.
Yes, I've been having a trip down memory lane, otherwise known as the annual Christmas tidy up the house because the family are coming home for Christmas.
Before any family members get too excited I should remind you that the "annual Christmas tidy up the house because the family are coming home for Christmas" session usually turns into the "look at some old stuff and get nostialgiac before giving up on tidying and scanning sketches you found instead" session:

Just for completionism the one you haven't mentioned looks like an early John McCrea - lesser known Garth Ennis Collaborator
Eh? How do you mean... the scans, I think, are Fabry, Macneill, McCarthy and Hughes in that order... but I do have a Sketch of Chopper here by Garth Ennis which is the weird thing...!
Could be my mistake, I just thought the Judge Dredd looked more like a McCrea than a McCarthy. And I think Ennis/McCrea were at that same signing.
the reason I think it's McCarthy is it's signed with an odd squiggle and I remember wondering what the hell it was (immediately after he did it) and you identifying it as something like MC2 which he uses sometimes...?
For some reason all that stuck in my head.
But I could be wrong... however I do have a McCrea sketch and no other McCarthy... it would be odd if I didn't get one...
