Eircom Talktime Ad - Jody on the telly!

I don't watch TV all that much these days, but I've been watching a lot of ads recently trying to catch Jody on the telly... but I kept missing her ad.

Jody is a great friend of mine, she's also Emmet's sister, and she's rehearsing Dracula with me at the moment.

Anyway, isn't the internet great - we found the ad on the Eircom site! Here it is, and be sure and come to see Jody playing Lucy in Dracula at the Firkin Crane from the 13th of October!!!

Yup. I'm acting again. Yes, the director shares the last name as myself, that's because she's my mother! Mind you, I think I got the part despite the fact rather than because of it :D

The production will also star (in no particular order):
Conor Dwane
Alf McCarthy
Bernie Cronin
Jody O'Neill

Jack healy
Shane Falvey

I may have left out a vampire here or there, but I'll post again if I have. It's late here now!

Thom Yorke - The Eraser

For a while there I wasn't listening to music, or playing music or going to gigs or anything. But that all changed again this summer. I've been posting a lot about Electric Picnic recently but I also went to Radiohead earlier this summer, and the gig completely revived my interest in them.

I bought Amnesiac when it came out and I hated it. Thought it was crap and threw it aside. Then, months later I dug it out an listened to it and suddenly I realised it was pure genius.

Then for ages I just kind of forgot about Radiohead, until this gig was coming up. Then I went back and listened to everything, and got Thom Yorke's new solo album 'The Eraser'. It's excellent.

I intended to write a big long rambling post about Radiohead and Thom Yorke, but who cares, right? Radiohead gig was excellent, Thom Yorke's album is excellent, and the video for Harrowdown Hill is excellent. Excellent excellent excellent.

As an aside, I wanted to share the aforementioned video with you and I thought I would use Blip.tv to do so since it seems their TOS might be (slightly) better than YouTube's. But I couldn't figure out how to embed the video in my blog. Maybe you have to do that crossposting thing, but that means giving them my login. Why don't they have simple embed code?

So as a result you can head over to blip and watch it, or you can just stay here and watch it via YouTube:

I'm addicted to Brain Crack...

Bif introduced me to Zefrank with his 'Eerily Accurate' post, and now I can't get enough. While watching episode after episode of his show I stumbled upon an explanation of why I have all these projects I've been talking about for so many years... I'm addicted to brain crack.

Oh, and also - this is hilarious: Hindsight: the show with zefrank: 05-15-06

Console did not play at Electric Picnic either...

console 14 00 on Vimeo

The previous post led to some aimless browsing to this... I like it.
The song itself, 14 zero zero is available for download from the record company.

These guys did not play at Electric Picnic.

I know I'm probably the last person on Earth to know about this, but in case I'm not - check it out. Thanks Richie!

ps the band is OK Go

Warlords of Pez - yes I still wish i was back at Electric Picnic

Found a great clip today of the legendary time the Warlords of Pez performed on children's television program 'Sattitude'.

Click here to watch the Warlords teach a gang of kids how to 'Do the Zombie' - for some reason I had to open it in Internet Explorer (yuk) to watch it.

I wonder if booking the Warlords to do kids tv was pure genius worthy of promotion or a horrible mistake someone got fired for?

Electric Picnic Walk With Me

Well now, I'm not gonna talk about Electric Picnic. In fact, we're not gonna talk about Electric Picnic at all.

But Wiggle are also excellent.

Electric Picnic

warlords of pez

I can't talk to you about Electric Picnic. But the Warlords of Pez are excellent. Go and listen to their double A side single material: 'Old Women with Broadband' and 'Monster Voice'.

ps: don't listen to Brian. Whatever he says.

Irish Political Cartoons

Were you wondering where last weeks IrishElection.com cartoon was? No? Well I'll tell you anyway.

Last week was hectic because I was getting ready to go to Electric Picnic among other things and in my rush out the door I did manage to email the cartoon to Bif who usually sends them on to Cian at IrishElection - only I emailed him to an address he hasn't used in years.

Don't ask me how, I still haven't figured it out.

Well, Bif thinks it's out of date now, so I'm putting it up here, since I went to a lot of trouble to get it done last week while doing a gazillion other things. Also Bif liked it so it really should get an outing somewhere!
